We are delighted to learn that the first two novels in the Devlin series will be published in Poland by Amber Publishing. Borderlands should appear in hardback before the end of the year, with Gallows Lane following in 2010.

We are delighted to learn that Gallows Lane has been shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards/Ireland AM Crime Novel of the Year. The winner will be decided by public vote between now and 1st May. You can vote on the Irish Book Awards site or by clicking here and following the instructions given.

The coming weeks will see a number of events to mark publication of the third Inspector Devlin mystery, Bleed A River Deep. The official launch will be held in the Verbal Arts Centre, Derry on April 2nd at 7pm. Before that, however, Brian will be participating in a short Scottish tour with Peter James and Ann Cleeves between 11th -13th March stopping in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee and finishing in Glasgow with a reading at the Aye Write Festival. On Tues. 14th April, Brian and Declan Hughes will do a joint reading in Waterstones, Dublin at 6.30 pm, while Brian and Declan will also be doing a reading/signing on Thursday 16th April in No Alibis, Belfast at 7pm. 2009 is already shaping up to be a busy one for Inspector Devlin. In March, a Devlin short story, The Stolen Child, will feature in Maxim Jakubowski’s anthology Mammoth Book of Best British Crime, alongside stories by Colin Dexter, Alexander McCall Smith and others.
